⚠️ CRITICAL SAFETY WARNING
Thermal/Solar Blankets are NOT SAFETY COVERS. They float on the water surface and provide ZERO protection against drowning. A child or pet can slip under a thermal blanket and become trapped.

Thermal Blankets (GeoBubble)
Thermal blankets are excellent products — for their intended purpose. They use advanced bubble technology (like GeoBubble) to trap heat from the sun and prevent evaporation.
Available Options:
Sol+Guard (500 microns)
Light blue, heats pool by up to 10°C. Premium heat retention.
Standard (400 microns)
Dark blue, heats pool by up to 8°C. Good all-round option.
EnergyGuard (500 microns)
Grey/black, heats by up to 7°C. Blocks light to inhibit algae growth.
When Thermal Blankets Make Sense:
- ✓ You have NO children or pets to worry about
- ✓ Your pool is already fenced with proper barriers
- ✓ Primary goal is heating and water saving
- ✓ Budget is very limited
- ✓ You plan to add a safety cover later
Safety Covers
Safety covers are designed as a horizontal fence — when closed, they create an impenetrable barrier that prevents access to the water entirely.
Child & Pet Safety Cover
Entry-level safety • 150kg capacity • R34,000 - R50,000
Aluminium battens in PVC material, tensioned with ratchets. Tamper-proof when properly secured.
PoolLock Vinyl Safety Cover
Ultimate safety • 250kg/m² capacity • R230,000+
Vinyl in tracks, hydraulic or electric operation. The gold standard for pool safety.
Which Do You Need?
You NEED a Safety Cover If:
- • You have children under 14
- • You have pets that could access the pool
- • Neighbours' children could access your property
- • You want legal liability protection
- • Peace of mind is priceless to you
A Thermal Blanket Alone May Be Okay If:
- • No children or pets in household
- • Pool area is already fully fenced and gated
- • Primary concern is heating/water saving only
- • You understand it provides zero safety
Can You Have Both?
Yes! Many pool owners use a thermal blanket under their safety cover for maximum heat retention. The thermal blanket floats on the water, and the safety cover goes over the top, providing both benefits.
Alternatively, solid vinyl safety covers already provide excellent heat retention on their own, making a thermal blanket redundant for most families.
